R2 farming topic.
Today we enjoyed learning about how, and why, the farmer shears their sheep. We now know that they are sheared once a year, in Spring, to keep the sheep healthy.
The tummy is clipped first, then the neck and finally the sides and back. When all the fleece is removed, it is laid out and rolled ready to go to the wool mart where it sells for just 50p.
