Nurturing Independent, Aspirational Learners. Supported by Strong Partnerships with Home and the Community
Health Week R2 Thursday -
Today we had to postpone our walk and talk with Tracey as Ballaugh turned white under the cover of hailstones!
We were busy in class with our science investigation in years 1 & 2 discovering what a cake would taste like without one of the ingredients. Whilst the children were all keen to eat them, the changes were noticeable. Peter certainly discovered that cakes need flour and yeast is not a good substitute. However, as he said,”They do taste better than they look”. We have never seen cakes bubble in a cooker before!
The reception children learned about the different food groups from the Key Stage One children who supported their learning. Billy sorted his lunchbox ans put his ham sandwich in the middle of both the carbohydrates and protein sections. Fraser also told us that “Yoghurt is dairy, and apple is a fruit”.
Ella designed a balanced meal (see whiteboard photo). She created a wonderful lunch with a chilcken sandwich!
The pedometer winners were Skylah and Rebecca. Yesterdays winners were Mian for the most steps on the walk and Hayden for the daily total.
