Ballaugh School

Nurturing Independent, Aspirational Learners. Supported by Strong Partnerships with Home and the Community

Christine and Marilyn came to speak to the children about Sophia Goulden. We talked about her inspirational role in her daughter Emmeline Pankhurst’s life and her important role both in society at the time and the changes brought about since . The children were all so keen to help raise funds to create a monument to remember this wonderful lady who was born in Lonan and lived in the Island before her move to Manchester.
Daisy thought we could all help raise money by donating things we no longer need and selling them at school .
We all made our own posters and are going home to have a Spring Clean so we can have a bring and buy sale on Thursday. Go to the Gallery to see more photographs.
